Elizabeth Lakamp, a native of Granite City, Ill. resides near the St. Louis area.

Lakamp has been performing for the better part of her life. She began in just 5th grade with an after school choir. Around 12 yrs. of age a family friend invited her to sing at the Wappapello Opry in Wappapello, Mo. where she made her first dollar for good luck. She still has it in her home in a frame her father made. Shortly after she began taking voice lessons and performing at recitals, beauty pageants, local contests, etc. Lakamp has always had the performance bug. Any type of venue where she could perform was an opportunity to be heard and to gain experience.

Around 1997 Lakamp paired up with a friend and they created the 'American Sweethearts Variety Show'. It was a fun filled act that took audiences through a musical journey of time beginning with the 1920's. It also included music through modern day, country, comedic acting skits, and clog dancing. It was through this show that Lakamp found she was absolutely hooked on performance; it wasn't just a bug anymore. Her partner relocated in 1998, but Lakamp kept on going with a one woman show. She kept the stage name the 'American Sweetheart Variety Show' for quite some time after her partners relocation. This was because the name had become well recognized. However, beginning in 2006 she simply began using 'Entertainment by Elizabeth' to cover an array of venues.

Throughout the many years Lakamp has been performing she has had the opportunity to sing in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel and in Branson at the Christy Lane Theater as well as other top venues. Locally she has performed at the Adams Mark Hotel, the Alton Belle Casino, and the St. Louis Zoo. There have been countless other public and private venues as well.

Along the way she has expanded her performances to include acting and commercials. With music being her main staple she has learned how to capture an audience. She possesses that 'certain something' that makes people want more of what she is delivering. With her down to Earth presentation her audiences feel as if her experience is their own.

Making a majority of her living through performance, Lakamp has managed to single handedly raise four children. This was brought on by surviving two abusive marriages and starting over from scratch. 'It hasn't been an easy task', Lakamp states. However, she is a survivor who lives by the motto, 'Do what you love, the rest will come'. She believes that happiness always wins over wealth. Lakamp adds, 'I wouldn't give up what I have learned through my experiences. I am much more confident, and a much stronger woman who now knows how to value every day I am given'.

More recently Lakamp has decided to return to continuing education. She believes that it is never too late to learn. That life is a growing process. Acting, improvisation, and music classes are among some of her most recent accomplishments.

Truly Lakamp is a delightful person and performer. She has a unique vocal style, and a positive fun loving spirit about her. It is apparent that she loves what she does as well as the people who love to listen!
